Although the polarity-opposed magnets will keep the rotor spinning for a very long time, friction created by air drag will eventually slow it down.
However, if the speed of the rotor drops below a certain point, however, an electrical motor will briefly kick in to get the rotor turning quickly again. The electricity to power the motor, of course, comes from the very electricity previously generated by the magnetic generator and stored in a battery. This is how a magnetic power generator can produce more electricity than it consumes.
But Isn’t Creating Energy Impossible?
This may seem too good to be true. After all, the laws of thermodynamics state that energy can be neither created nor destroyed, merely change form. How, then, can a magnetic power generator create electricity? The answer is simple: it can’t. However, no electrical generator, whether it is powered by coal or magnetism, creates energy. It merely starts and maintains a flow of electron as long as the rotor is spinning. It is like a water pump. The pump doesn’t create water, it just gets the flow of water going from an underground reservoir to the surface.
